After some time off, the ladies over at The B Bar are back with another link up! This month we were asked to discuss what our goals for the fall are. Each season definitely brings a feeling of new beginnings. There's usually the changing out of clothes to prepare for new weather and new activities to enjoy with friends, along with new challenges. Fall is definitely a time of change and great opportunity to set a challenges for yourself.
Before I dive into what my goals are for the fall, I thought it would be good to take a look at the goals I set for myself to accomplish back at the New Year. I realized that I really haven't accomplished many of the goals I set for myself back in January. I could blame it on moving, starting a new job and trying to adjust to life living in the same city as my boyfriend, but really none of those are the reason why.
When we make goals for ourselves, it's important to consider a few factors. Is this something we're going to want to accomplish a year from now? Does it have a benefit to us or someone else? Is it obtainable? These were not questions I asked myself at the New Year. When I sat down to consider what I want to accomplish this fall, I really thought about those questions and how they applied to my goals.
I realized that some of those goals were not really what I wanted to focus on for this year. That's not to say that I don't want to accomplish them someday, but right now isn't the time. The passion isn't there, and if there's no passion behind a goal, I believe you're setting yourself up for failure. So, for the fall I really want to focus on something I'm passionate about, and right now that's this space. Blogging has always been a creative outlet for me and Life Modifier has gone through several changes in the time that I've owned this domain. It started as a portfolio to find a job post college and has struggled to find its focus until now.
I would love for Life Modifier to become a resource for the millennial woman. Whether she's seeking career advice, tips on how to plan her friend's bachelorette party, or really wants a good book to read; I want this to be a resource for all those women who are just looking to live life to the fullest, one day at a time. We're a generation of thrill seekers, ambitionistas, goal diggers and boss babe. We're Life Modifiers.
My goal for the fall and for Life Modifier is to really be consistent with my content. That means posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday with content that will be beneficial and not just "fluff". That means bringing in people who are respected in their fields and know their shit. That means providing you with information that's useful to you and place that you can keep coming back to time and time again.
This goal actually answers my three questions. Life Modifier has been in my life since June 2011. For 4 years I've continued to pay for hosting and domains, so yes, I do see this being a goal of mine a year from now. This blog benefits my own selfish reasons of wanting a place to write and sharing my thoughts with the world and I like to think that what I post does have a benefit to others. As far as this goal being obtainable, I really think that it is. I'm on my way to creating a better LM and I know that if i stick to being consistent, I can make it the best it's ever been. I hope y'all will stick around for the adventure ahead.
